The big girl bed!

Hannah's new big girl bedding came in today! I looooove it. It is so perfect for Hannah's new room! I must say- she loves it too. She was so excited as I put it on her bed tonight and couldn't wait to climb up on it. Here's a few pics of the momentous occasion. :) I was going to put a video.... but blogger won't let me update it! I keep getting an error message. phooey!

10 on Tuesday!

1. Potty training has been getting a little better with Hannah. She even wore her big girl panties out to dinner and to the store last night with major success. Since she did so well- we let her pick out a new pair of Little Mermaid ones! When we got home, I hear “uh oh, momma!” and I go in the living room where Hannah tells me as she’s looking down- “pee pee on carpet. Uh oh” and I look down and see a nice puddle underneath her. At least we’re making SOME progress…

2. She loves to watch “car-chuns” aka cartoons.

3. I am getting excited about our trip to the beach for Labor Day weekend! I’m sure Chad is dreading it more and more. :)

4. Today is my great-grandaddy’s birthday and my niece, Carlee’s, birthday! Everyone wish them a happy birthday!

5. My sister-in-law just got engaged and is getting married on October 10th. Guess who is the photographer?! (and flower girl! No- not me! Hannah!)

6. I took Hannah to Outdoor World on Sunday while I was waiting for my client and she loved to watch the fish in the huge aquarium. Especially the fish-cats. She had to tell her dad alllll about the fish-cats at the “fish store”! :) (catfish, hee hee)

7. I am sooo excited about my holiday sessions coming up! It is going to be so. much. fun!!!! (If you haven’t booked yet- I still have a few spaces available!)

8. I have been sucked in to the “Twilight” books thanks to my Vegas trip girls! I’m obviously a VERY slow reader as some of them are already on to book #3 and I’m still not half way through with the first one! If only I had a couple of more hours in my day…

9. Did I mention I’m super excited about the holiday mini sessions?!!! Can’t wait!!!

10. Hannah had her first picnic last week! What’s better than a picnic dressed as a princess and eating PIZZA with your best friend?!

Hannah and I went to Enterprise for the weekend to visit the fam and celebrate grandaddy's birthday! (which is actually tomorrow) We had a great time!

On the way back to Birmingham yesterday, I stopped in Prattville to meet up with this super cute senior- Tyler! I had a blast with them as we ventured out to check out different locations to shoot. I think we got some pretty fun shots and I can't wait to go through all of them!

I couldn't resist- so here's just a couple of sneak peeks for you guys! :) It was so nice to meet you all! I must also say a big thanks to my sister-in-law for referring them to me. and CONGRATS on your engagement! Looks like I'll have a wedding to shoot soon. ;)

It's that time!

Time to start thinking about your holiday portraits and holiday cards to send out to friends and family! I know, I know. It's August. and still miserably hot. But when you think about it- Christmas will be here before we know it!

It's official.

My baby girl is no longer a baby. Friday- 08.08.08 nontheless- she spent her last night in her crib as my "baby" girl. Saturday started the official move to her big girl room and I do have to say, it was pretty sad. :( Hannah even gave her crib a goodbye kiss before we took it apart. It didn't go too far though- we used part of the crib as her "big girl" bed headboard and she immediately recognized it once we took her up to see her new room. :)

Here is Hannah sporting her finest cat ears and Cinderella dress for the occasion. Ok, and paci too. Since she was in her bed she felt obligated to have it. :)

*sigh* Just another reminder that my little girl is growing up entirely too fast.

10 on Tuesday

Ok, I'll take a stab at this "10 on Tuesday" thing since I've been a bad blogger recently. Maybe this will catch you all up. :)

1. Hannah’s favorite movie right now is “The Cheebunks” (better known as The Chipmunks). She’s so cute when she watches it- she’ll just laugh and say “look- cheebunks mama!” :)

2. I’m going to Vegas this weekend with some of my best photographer friends and I admit- I’m getting a little nervous- yet excited!!

3. One of my best friends, Joy, is in town this week and I can't wait to meet up with them and Mandy and Grace too! Hannah is soooo excited to see Joey and Mia. :) Hannah is probably having a blast right NOW because she is at Grace's house playing today. (Thanks again Mandy!)

4. This will be the first time Hannah has gotten to stay overnight with Grandma Barbara. I’m not sure who is going to be more excited.

5. Hannah loves when we open up our garage because we store some of her “old” toys in there. She gets so giddy when the door opens and it’s like they are brand new all over again and she will just play and explore all of the little treasures she finds.

6. Yes, we need to clean our garage. We’ve made a major dent in it- but I can’t part with some of it. :)

7. If you ask Hannah what she wants for dinner- she’ll say noodles and eggroll please. She’s on a major Chinese kick these days.

8. Hannah is getting so brave! We went to the park the other day and she climbed up on the fort all by herself and when she went to slide- she hung from the top bar and would swing from it saying “look at meeee momma! I a monkey!” I’m going to have to keep a close watch on this little monkey!

9. I can’t believe it has been several weeks since I’ve been home to Enterprise. I go home at least every other weekend and it has been, gosh, 3 weeks (I think) already and I’ll be out of town again this weekend. Can’t wait to go down the second weekend in August!

10. One of the reasons I didn’t go home this past weekend- I shot a wedding here in Birmingham and it was so much fun. It rained, and rained, and RAINED but I think we made the best of it. :) Here is one shot from the ceremony- isn’t the church just gorgeous?! More to come!

They are growing up way too quickly.

Here are some recent signs:

*Hannah can now say she lives in "Alabaster Alabama" perfectly pronounced. Ok, so most of the time she thinks "Alabama" is the theme park Alabama Adventure but their logo has taught her to recognize the state's shape! Anytime she sees it- she says "Alabama!"

*The other night I told her it was time to brush her teeth and she came into the bathroom but immediately ran out. I peeked down the hall and I saw her running back from the kitchen carrying her step stool. She has to have it when she brushes her teeth so she went and got it all by herself! She even lined it up perfectly at the sink before proceeding with the teeth brushing. :)

*She can tell little stories. When we got home from the zoo on Sunday, she told Chad about the scary monkeys and how they made her cry! (Well, she liked all of the monkeys until the big ol' orangutan- but he wasss kind of scary looking!)

I could just go on and on.... she is just so much fun and just the cutest little thing ever. :)

It can be found at this awesome little bakery in Homewood- Pastry Art Let me just tell you- these are the single most delicious things I have EVER tasted. I am a tad biased seeing as how I ALWAYS get chocolate (or turtle!) so I can't really vouch for the caramel, red velvet, vanilla or other specialty ones they have but my co-workers certainly can! We make a "baby bite run" at least once a week. :) It's so fun to walk in and see the owner crack a big smile as he sees me come through the door. It makes it all that much better to know that they remember their clients and appreciate them so much!

Let me introduce you to my favorite thing. I took these shots yesterday at the portrait party I posted about below. I spoiled my guests with a big crystal platter of these oh-so-yummy delicacies!

Portrait Party!

I had my first EVER portrait party today and I must say- it was a success! Mandy was so gracious to offer to host a party in her home and she invited several fabulous families over to have their pictures taken and join in in the festivities. We had food (a separate post will be coming about the famous Baby Bites!) and lots o' toys for the kiddos and of course me there with my camera ready to capture some cute moments.

Little Miss Carson Grace

I got to meet this sweet little girl and her parents out at the gardens today for an evening session. (and my friend Mandy too who was sweet enough to refer them to me!) We lucked out and missed the thunderstorm that had just passed through- whew!

Carson Grace will be celebrating her first birthday next month and was just a pure joy to work with. It was so nice to meet you all and I enjoyed our dinner together as well. I'll see you all at the portrait party on Saturday!

So many reasons I love the beach....

Hannah and I had quite the busy weekend. In three days we visited three cities! Enterprise on Saturday, Destin on Sunday and Orange Beach on Monday! I do have to say I was most excited about Orange Beach because I was on my way to meet on of my best photographer friends, Lyndsay. Hannah and I met her, her husband and kiddos Taryn and Teagan for an early dinner and then headed to the beach for a little TTD session! You can actually catch a sneak peak on her blog right now!

I also thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay in Destin. That has to be one of my absolute favorite places on earth. It is just so amazingly gorgeous there and I almost cried as we drove over the bridge to leave. :(

Ok, back to the TTD. Here's a couple that I snapped (yes, while standing in a very heavy, wet and sandy wedding dress!) while out at the beach. It was soooo nice there. I wish I could have stayed so much longer! It was so great to meet you and your fam Lyndsay!

I hope you all had a fun and safe day! We had a great time today- we started off our morning by driving down to Nana and Grandy's house and spending the afternoon with them and Hannah's cousins- Carlee, Allie and Raegan and then we headed back to Birmingham for dinner and a fireworks show with friends! Lucky for us, one of our friends, Embree's husband's parents (got that?!) own the restaurant we were at so we got to go onto the balcony for our own secluded area for the fireworks! It was awesome! Of course you could find me with my camera attached to my face trying to get "the" fireworks shot. I think I got some pretty cool ones- here's just one:

The BIG 3-0

I turned 30 on Sunday! Yeah, hard to believe it's really here! Chad, Hannah and I spent the night at Ross Bridge Resort here in Birmingham and had such a great time. We spent Sunday afternoon hanging out at the pool and then met our friends for dinner at Surin. Yum!

Yesterday I spent most of the day at the spa and it was heaven on earth! If you haven't been- you definitely need to go try it out! Better yet- if you're a Birmingham local you can get 20% off all spa services Monday-Wednesdays! So go book yourself a "YOU" day!

I had the honor of photographing an old college friend (ok, we're not THAT old!) and her precious little boy last weekend. I had no idea that she lives in my old hometown in the SAME neighborhood as my family so I was so excited to have the chance to go over and see her! Her husband is currently serving in Iraq so I'm so glad I was able spend the afternoon with them and get some shots so she can send to him. :)

He has such a loving family! I can't wait until he's home and I can take some pictures of the whole family at home together- complete with baby Emery in their arms! Coming July 2008!

One of my best friends, Danika, came to visit this past weekend and it was the first time she's gotten to meet Hannah. She decided to make up for it by taking Miss Hannah shopping at a super-cute boutique in Enterprise. She picked out this uber-adorable tutu and it was definitely a hit today at ballet class. She got SO many compliments on it!

Thank you, Danika!! We miss you already! We'll have to come to Miami soon....

Hannah now says she's going to the "ballet house". Everything has a "house" now- in fact, we got dinner at the "chicken finger house" AKA Zaxby's tonight. Too funny!

Yeah, it's typically that big of a deal to get Hannah to actually look in my general direction! Let me shout it from the rooftops- I got a picture of Hannah looking at me! AND it's in focus because she wasn't running away!

I was getting Hannah ready for her ballet class and it went a little something like this:

Me: Hannah, are you ready to go to dance class?

Hannah: Momma, pictures?

Me: You want me to take a picture of you in your tutu?

Hannah: Yeah! Let's go mom-ma! (exits stage right to the front door so I can take her picture)

WOW! Maybe this will be a new trend of her actually WANTING me to take her picture. I could grow to like this.....

Hannah's first dance class!

I must admit- I've been looking forward to this day since..... well, since I was in dance class myself growing up. (Did you know I was a dancer? Yep- I took ballet, tap, jazz, clogging.... oh yes. I was awesome- lol) I always dreamed of the day I'd get to take my own little girl for her first ballet class. That day was today! It was so much fun getting her ready and dressed in her pretty little leotard and her ballet shoes (oh, and her tights that she calls ballet socks!) :)

I was about to get some pics of her before we left when she decided to throw one of those famous "I'm two" fits. Yep, this is the best shot I got before we left. Silly girl! She was ok as soon as I said we were getting in the car to go to class!

She waited patiently in the lobby as we waited for her class to begin. She just sat and watched all the other ballerinas walking around.... I think she was already dancing her lead role in the Nutcracker ballet in her head.... :)

The class was for 2.5-4 year olds but Hannah was the youngest by far. The others were at least 3-4 years old but she really tried to keep up!

I just love, love, LOVE this one.... look at that sweet face! They were pretending to be princesses who were going to sleep...

As soon as we got home, she had to put on a mini-recital in the driveway to showcase all she learned today!

Today after work we headed over to Alabama Adventure for an event for the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. What that equaled for us was free hotdogs and coke and access to the park. :) I must say- it was dreadfully hot though- and my poor friend, Alisha, had her 8 week old baby in tow along with her 2 year old so I felt bad for her. She was a trooper though! What we'll do for our kids..... (thanks for coming with us!! Hannah had a blast!)

The group was definitely divided between the "kiddie riders" and the "wild bunch" with me being in the wild bunch. Here's Crystal and I waiting in line to get on the Rampage roller coaster! Don't we look daring? (photo courtesy of Drew)

The kiddos had a blast riding all the rides- the cars, the train, the planes..... I didn't do so well on the plane ride though. By the third spin, I was in position with my head down and eyes closed with Hannah hitting my head saying "mama, look! look!" but I just couldn't do it. Stephanie does not spin very well. I can ride those coasters all day- but if you spin me, it's all over.

Ok, I must catch you all up on the major cuteness that I have endured these past few days with my precious 2-year-old, Hannah! Have I mentioned I just love this age?!

For example- yesterday evening Hannah and I were going to go to Target to get her some new Disney DVDs (this due to the fact that someone decided to steal her bag of movies out of our car. How sad is that??) When I got home from work, I told her we were going to the store and she said “Momma, go store- find Thomas?!” She’s all about Thomas the Train these days, silly girl! It also catches me off guard because she is really starting to talk in full sentences!! It’s crazy! She’s still my baby…. She can’t really be old enough to TALK, right?! She was also telling me “Momma outside- Hannah’s blue pool!” (See post below to find out just how much she loves her new blue pool. :))

I think my favorite part of our evening had to be when we were walking out of Target though. We were on the way to the car when someone beeped their horn and Hannah exclaimed “Goodness gwacious!!” Oh my- where does she get these things?! I immediately cracked up and just smiled at her and she just looked up at me with those big brown eyes and just smiled right back. Gosh, I love that kid!

These are definitely the days to remember.

It's that time again!

Today when I got home from work- we broke out the pool! Hannah was so excited as Chad and I worked hard to blow it up with our measly little tire pump. (that you have to pump by hand!!!) There were lots of shrieks of "bathing suit, momma!" and "swim! pool!" :) Finally we got that puppy all blown up and it was time to fill it up. Hannah was already geared up and ready to go....

It was hard to convince her to get out of the pool- she was having such a great time. I can't wait to get home tomorrow so we can continue our pool adventures! I might even jump in there myself....

Little Miss Grace is growing up so fast! We had a great time playing out at the gardens on Sunday- it was such a pretty day and the perfect weather. As you can see below, the rainbow lollipops were definitely a hit with the girlies. :) More to come- stay tuned!

On the way home from Staples we passed by McDonald's (ok, it was still like 1/4 mile away) but the chants from the backseat had already began. "oooooh! Donnnald's ice cweam cone, MOM-MA!" in as much of an excited Hannah voice as possible. I glanced in the rear-view mirror and saw those big brown eyes and that smile....how could I not get her an ice cream cone?!

I made her stand in the driveway to eat it while I was getting our stuff out of the car and once I had a chance to look at her with the ice cream dripping down her nose, chin and arm- I knew I had to run get my camera!

look at that nice arm drip.... that sealed the deal on her bubble bath. I carried her straight to the tub after this! :)

They grow up too fast!

I got to spend the afternoon with Miss Ella on Friday and I just can't get over how much she has grown. It seems like just yesterday she was just a tiny baby.... and now she is this beautiful little girl! She just turned one a couple of weeks ago and is getting cuter by the day. Hannah will be jealous that I got to spend the afternoon with Ella and "Ella's mommy" :)

I had the privilege of being the photographer for their wedding in Destin, Florida a couple of weeks ago. I had a blast with them throughout the day as they got ready for the ceremony. They have such a fun family and I am so glad you all let me be a part of your special day! and a special thanks to Ryan for inviting me! :)

road trip!

My best friend Kelli and her two kiddos, Hailey and Nathan, were in town visiting this weekend. On Saturday we met up with some friends at Chuck E. Cheese and then headed to Prattville to have dinner with her family. When we were finished with dinner she mentioned how fun it would be if we could go to the beach (the beach fever kicked in after she watched Hannah's 2nd birthday video filled with beach trip pictures!) and so after a short talk, a quick stop to her parents house- it was 8:00 and we were on the road to the BEACH! At 11 p.m. we rolled into Gulf Shores and got a hotel room right on the beach.... ahh, the perfect location!

The kiddos were SO excited and this was actually Hailey and Nathan's first trip to the beach so it made that much more special. They were wide awake at 6:30 the next morning and it was so fun to be able to open the door to the balcony and let them walk out and see the ocean! By 7:00 we were ON the beach playing followed by a trip to the indoor pool for a bit. We were on limited time so we packed in some souvenir shopping and then had lunch at LuLu's and then back on the road we went. It was such a whirlwind trip but definitely a Stephanie and Kelli tradition! We were always up for a fun road trip!

I bet you could never guess why, eh? :) I got to spend the afternoon with this little Hannah last week. She is just so precious and you should check out her nursery- I think she's got the most gorgeous nursery I have EVER seen! (Great job, mom!) I got to spend the afternoon with two of the most beautiful little girls! Ava welcomes her new baby sister- Mia! She was only 7 days old- such a perfect time to capture the true "newborn" shots. And let me just tell ya, little Miss Mia was a dream to work with! She did so great and would just snuggle right in. :)

It was SO great to meet you all and I look forward to seeing you all again soon! Hannah too :)

This past Sunday I got to meet little Mr. T and his wonderful parents out at the gardens for a little photo session. He is just too cute for words! I had a session out at the gardens on Sunday afternoon and Chad decided to take Hannah out there with me so we could play around after my session. We also went to college with my photo client so it was good to all get together with the kiddos!

I set out on a mission to get a good print-worthy picture of Hannah for the family but she was working overtime to avoid eye contact with me. ;) Here's a few of my faves- even if she's not looking at me! :)

We've had a pretty relaxing weekend compared to last weekend's chaos! We broke out the new bubble machine and Hannah had a blast with it! I do have to admit it was difficult to hold it in one hand while trying to take pictures with the other! I just *had* to take pictures, ya know? It's an obsession really. :)

Now.... this picture I like to call PROOF. Proof that we actually having living, colorful flowers in our yard right now! Hannah and I planted these bad boys last weekend and so far, so good! Ask me for an updated picture in a month. :)

Last but not least- Hannah got a hair cut yesterday! She did SO good sitting up on her little horse. When she was done she looked in the mirror and said "Hair cut!" and walked around showing off her hair cut to everyone. :) A hair do these days is not complete without "tails" or a crown!

I had quite the weekend- I had not one, not two, but THREE sets of newborns to photograph! Can you say, BABY FEVER?! I had so much fun getting to meet all of these amazing families and their new additions.

My first session was with baby girls M & M. The parents gave me a warning that the girls did not like to lay next to each other and we might have a challenge with the shots of them together- but I gladly accepted the challenge and off we went. Not five minutes later- look what we got :)

Ok, so after awhile they wanted their space! :)

Chad, Hannah and I went to the park yesterday when I got home from work. Have I mentioned how much I'm LOVING the longer days?!! It's actually LIGHT outside when I get home from work!! It has been so nice to be able to get home and actually have options of doing things indoors OR outdoors!

So.... off we went to the park. Which park? None other than the home of the infamous "Alligator Slide" that Hannah speaks so highly of. She walks around talking about the "al-li-ga-tor slide" allll the time, silly girl! (Yup, she can say ALL that just perfectly annunciated!) Right before we left Hannah wanted to swing one last time and I noticed the absolutely gorgeous lighting there at the swing so I ran to the car and got my camera- just in time!

Easter with Hannah!

I hope you all had a great Easter! We sure did. We went down to see my family in Enterprise and then came back Saturday night so the Easter Bunny could come see Hannah Sunday morning and then we went to church followed by a trip out to the country to the in-laws. whew! We had a busy weekend needless to say!

The trip to see the Easter bunny did not go as planned.... luckily, there was NO line to see Mr. Easter Bunny so we got to walk right up in time for the kiddos in front of us to be finishing up. Hannah thought he was soooo funny so I was thinking to myself "this is gonna be good!" So we start to walk up to the bunny as Hannah's cling gets stronger and stronger and she decided we were wayyyy too close for comfort. After we'd walked away she got mad and would say "chi-chure bunny! chi-chure bunny!" (picture with bunny!) so after two more attempts- this is what we got:

Hannah and I dyed eggs last night and then had our own little Easter egg hunt in our backyard this afternoon. She had sooo much fun finding the eggs!

I peeked out the window to see everything covered in snow this morning! Hannah was SO excited when she looked out her window and we had to immediately put on some clothes and get outside. :)

My week of staying home with Hannah has been so much fun! We've gone on so many adventures from going to Ikea in Atlanta with Joy, Joey, Mia and Heinz to going to Cottontails with Mandy and Grace today. Let's not forget Chuck E. Cheese, the park, the bookstore, a playdate!, playing dress up at home, reading books and dinner out with friends. It's been an awesome week!

Today Hannah insisted on wearing her favorite boots and a dress which, of course, is not complete without her crown. While we were at Cottontails, she found a new friend that she calls "Baby Bunny" and she held a spot under one of Hannah's arms today. The other had trusty Bear under it. :)

Hannah's vocabulary grows by leaps and bounds every day. Yesterday we went to the park and she remembered the slide- this morning she woke up talking about the "alligator slide" and "Grace!" :)

Sorry, long time no post again. But I'm back.... with pictures of Hannah!

She and I have had a nice girls' weekend together and have been quite productive I might add. Yesterday she and I finished up her birthday shopping and got the last of the decor and her cake ordered. We then spent the afternoon organizing her room and finished our night with dinner at The Melting Pot with Joy, Hank, Joey, Mia and Heinz. :)

Here's a couple of pics of Hannah from yesterday. She was so cute- she would hear something outside and point to her ear and say "listen!" and she'd name what it was- plane, train, cat, etc. So cute!!!

Today is a sad day for me- I lost my baby dog, Keely, one year ago today. Many of you never got to meet Keely- but she was the best dog you'd ever meet. I miss her terribly. :(

Valentine's!

Gosh, I've been such a bad blogger once again. Can I use the excuse that I've just been soooo busy?!! :)

Today I took a few pics of Hannah to use for her little Valentine's cards and for once she had a blast. It could be the fact that I gave her a big ol' sucker to sit there with! She sat there contently sucking on her sucker as I snapped away. It was a perfect combination! Final card preview coming soon. :)

In other Hannah news- she just gets smarter and smarter by the day. She can now name all body parts and even fingers and toes! She especially likes to point out facial body parts as daddy tries to sleep. It's the perfect opportunity for her to point out his eyes, nose, mouth and ears. hee hee

Christmas with Hannah

Well, Santa came to our house! Christmas was a blast for Hannah this year. Christmas Eve was spent with her Nana, Grandy, Bubba, cousins Carlee, Allie, Raegan and Aunt Tracy and David. We got smart this year and let all of the kiddos take turns opening all of their presents first and then got to ours. :) They had so much fun!

Christmas morning Hannah slept in til after 8:30! When I brought her downstairs and walked her over to the tree she just stood there staring at everything in awe. It was so cute! It didn't take her long to start tearing through everything though and checking it out!

Hannah n Santa

Chad and I took Hannah to see Santa this past Tuesday night at the mall. We went on a weeknight thinking we'd beat the crowd but I think everyone else had that same idea as well! We waited for almost an hour to see the jolly old man himself. We even made a few friends during our wait! :)

Hannah had a blast playing with all of the kids in line and was in such a wonderful mood until it was her turn.....

Once I went up there with her she calmed down long enough to somewhat look at the camera. I was not prepared to be IN the picture though- I thought I was safe BEHIND the camera! :)

*sigh* perhaps next year she'll think Santa is cool :)

It has been my mission the past couple of weeks to get a good picture of Hannah for our Christmas cards. It has been a very long journey to say the least. This is what I had gotten- keep in mind my "backdrop" was wayyyyy far to my left. ;)

After a trip to the annual Christmas parade this past Saturday (it was a looong two hours), we came home with a huge bag filled with candy much to Hannah's delight. She took a real interest in the smarties so I thought I'd use it to my advantage. I decided to try just one more time to get her to sit still so I took her out to my "studio" in the garage and gave her some smarties. Holy cow- she sat there!! When she'd run out I'd toss a few more and it worked like a charm. I happened to get these two shots that I'm quite happy with. :)

This means I might just have my Christmas cards done in the near future- coming to a mailbox near you! :)

Long time, no post. I know, I'm a bad blogger. I've just been super busy these days with the holidays coming up, proofing sessions, working full-time and chasing after Hannah. If only I could have a few more hours in my day- then I could promise a daily post.

Here are a few pictures from today. It was such a nice day so she and I went out and played in the yard for awhile. She LOVES to kick around in the leaves and throw them in the air. I love to chase her around with my camera. :)

Of course, Bear is always anywhere Hannah may be. She absolutely adores Bear and he must go EVERYWHERE we go. The grocery store. The doctor. The mailbox. The bathroom. You get my point. You're pretty much guaranteed to see him in any picture of Hannah as well. He is her main sidekick- it's just so cute. Poor poor Bear is looking pretty shabby these days though-but he's a trooper. Let's all hope that he lives a long, ripped-off-body-part-free life. :)

What a fun day (or week rather!) it has been! I couldn't wait to get home from work so I could get Hannah all dressed up and take her trick-or-treating. She's been practicing walking around with her pumpkin ("cunkin" in Hannah talk) saying "tick-o-tee" for over a week now. Of course when it came time to actually put her to the test, there were no "tick-o-tee's" coming out of her tonight but she sure was brave and would march up to each neighbor's house! Our cat, Cat-Cat, also followed us door to door. Silly kitty!

After a round of trick-or-treating we went to our church for their annual festival. She loved seeing everyone all dressed up- especially the princesses. She called them all "Rella"- she loves Cinderella!

Hannah got so many compliments on her costume and many ask if I made it myself. Ha! If they only knew me and my lack of domestic skills!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween! I know we sure did! Here's a few pictures from our day.

Yep, another weekend at the beach for me and the Hannah! We're down in Orange Beach for a photo session with a wonderful family. I also had the chance to stop by the outlets today and I got Hannah the CUTEST outfit from Gap! Stay tuned for pictures of her in it. I think I'll get some pics of her out on the beach in the morning sportin' it. :)

My cousin and I went out Saturday afternoon playing "photographer" and she took a couple of pictures of me. As she was snapping away she told me to pretend that I was on "America's Next Top Model"..... and this is what you get! ;)

Yes, my jeans are rolled but I was determined not to get the "short" length jeans. It somehow makes me feel better about myself. :)

I got to meet Jacob (who just turned THREE!) and his mom on Tuesday out at the botanical gardens- my new favorite place. We had such a fun time exploring the gardens and walking on the trails. 18 months!

I can't believe my baby girl is already 18 months old! Heck, by now she's already 18 and a HALF months old. Sigh.

She and I went out the the botanical gardens yesterday so she could play dress up and mommy could play paparazzi. I followed her around and jumped out from behind every corner to try to snap a picture of her actually looking at me. I failed miserably. I did get some great shots of her back, toes and pouty face though!! (and Bear, of course)

Here's my 18 month old cutie- who can say butterfly now!(Buh-er-fwy) I'm so proud!

Ok, so I'm not really "Auburn or Alabama"...... I try to stay neutral and say "Go Troy!" Hannah's Nana and Grandy and Aunt Tracy (and dad!) are big Bama fans and got her this adorable outfit for her birthday. In honor of the first game of the season, I let her wear her outfit today!

Hannah's always less than thrilled to have me chase her around with the camera but I managed to get a few shots of her sportin' the new outfit. :) Thanks Nana, Grandy and Aunt Tracy!

That's been my fun for today- now it's back to CLEANING! That's right, what better way to spend Labor Day weekend than cleaning house? Well, the beach would be really nice right now..... but I'll be down there in just a few weeks! Yay!

I got Hannah's Halloween costume in the mail today and it is soooo cute!!! Ok, so it's only August but you know I had to let her try it on. ;) She thought it was so fun to walk around with the little slippers on- it was truly a sight to see.

She decided to walk over to where she could wave at all the neighbors. I'm sure they were wondering why she was dressed like a pumpkin in August.

Excuse my sad pitiful flower pot. The drought ate my flowers. Hopefully this 100+ degree weather will leave us alone soon!

Hannah and I got back from Michigan this afternoon after spending the week with our family. We lost our Aunt Amber this past week and spent some time with the family- they have so many wonderful friends that came to show their support- they are truly amazing.

Hannah had a blast playing with Grandaddy's water spicket over the weekend! She started off sticking her fingers in it, then toes, then head! :)

Hannah and I will be flying to Detroit tomorrow morning due to the loss of our Aunt Amber. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully she can bring some smiles to everyone's faces as we visit in Michigan.

Bear vs. Mouse

I'm sure you all know Bear is Hannah's sidekick. He goes EVERYWHERE we go- he's Hannah's best friend.

Well, after a trip to the Disney Store on Saturday- Hannah found a new love in a Minnie Mouse doll. She carried not one, but two huge Minnie's around the store. I didn't buy one though because I knew we had one at home. (Thanks Julie!) I didn't even have to find it- as soon as Hannah came home she immediately spotted Minnie and now this "mouse" been getting about the same attention as Bear!

Poor poor Bear. :( He should feel good though- Hannah still has to have him when the day is said and done. He has to be in her arms to go to bed. :)

This was Sunday afternoon at the park- she had to carry BOTH of them with her!

In other Hannah news, she loves to say "choo choo!" now. When she hears the train outside she immediately starts saying "choo choo! choo choo!" It's so cute! She's one smart little girl. :)

I had the honor of having two photo sessions with two AWESOME families today! This morning I met with my friend Mandy and her ADORABLE almost-9-month-old Gracie. We had a blast chasing them around and taking pictures despite the messy rain outside.

This afternoon I ventured out into the rain once again to meet the Johnson family at the gardens to do their family pictures. Despite the fact that it looked like there was no end in sight for the rain.... it cleared up just in time for us to do pictures! How lucky were we??? And I'm so glad it did.... these guys are the cutest! They were such troopers letting me pose them and give them silly ideas to do. :) Thanks guys! I had a blast!

Today was the big day. Hannah's very first haircut! We took her to Angel Hair in Hoover and they were just so nice and the lady that did her hair was so good with Hannah. And I must say- I'm very proud of Hannah, too! She sat down in her "Jeep" and didn't really make a peep the entire time other than saying "Hey!" and waving to people as the passed. What a big girl!

Afterwards, we went to dinner with dad and then on to a shopping spree at Toys-r-Us! Well, kinda anyway. She got a new Dora chair (at first I thought I was going to have to carry her out still sitting in it! She would not get out of it, silly girl!) and a book and also some new bibs and a snack trap. Woo hoo!

Hannah loooves to play with the refrigerator magnets now (well, when she's not throwing them in the trash can which is her OTHER favorite thing to do!) I had to catch her "in action" as she played and admired her magnet artwork. She's just so funny! Here are a few I snapped today....

Tutus and umbrellas

Hannah and I spent the weekend in Enterprise. I broke down and bought her a "Dora" umbrella Friday night while she and I were at Target but of course- I did have two motives. One being that perhaps it would cause it to actually rain since we have had ZERO rain and obviously my rain dances have not been working. Second motive is that our photo board weekly challenge is Umbrella! I couldn't miss the umbrella- what can I say? The girl has an eye for Dora! All throughout the store she'd point and say "Doh-uh! Doh-uh!" hence the reason we ended up with the umbrella. I would have completely missed it if it wasn't for the Dora radar that has been implanted into Hannah.

Megan helped me make a couple of tutus and she decided that SHE wanted to have funky tutu pictures so we packed up and went out today before we came back to B'ham. Here's a few of our "funky" shots. She's such a ham. :)

My supermodel, cover girl Hannah! My beautiful brown-eyed girl is on the cover of the June/July issue of Alabama Baby magazine and I also got to be the photographer! I am so excited and can't wait to see it on the shelves in the store. I might have to just *happen* to stop by the bookstore each day on my lunch break, casually walk on over to the magazine section and be like "oh look! That's MY baby on the cover!!!" :)

Baby legs and a tutu

Hannah's "Babylegs" that I ordered for her came in today. :) I got her the rainbow striped and the Neapolitan striped. So they aren't really for this summer weather but you know that I HAD to get a picture of her in them and they just went sooo well with her tutu! hee hee

Once I got her tutu on you couldn't really see them anymore but there was no getting the tutu off of Hannah. She loves to wear it and crawl around. I ventured out into the yard with her to attempt to take a few pictures of her sporting her glamorous outfit. (G-L-A-M...O-R-OUS... thanks, Fergie!)

Oreo Monster

Ick. I'm still sick.... I took a half day off work today to come home and crash. My face has been throbbing all day and I'm so stuffy and can't breathe. The incessant sneezing has also started. I finally peeled myself out of bed around 5:00 and went to the doctor and yep, it's a bad sinus infection. I can't seem to make it through a season without getting one bad one. Ugh. I got a nice shot of cortizone (ouchie!) and then I went by Wal-Mart and picked up my Z-pack prescription and got Hannah a new Dora DVD. She was soooo excited when I got home. "It's Doh-uh!!!"

We put in her new DVD and sat on the couch and ate Oreo's. (I had to pick some up at Wal-Mart, I knew they'd help me get better faster :).) We let her have one too and this is what happened....... (and this was just ONE oreo!)

Sick.

Chad was sick all last week and it looks like the bug has finally caught up with me. I feel just awful today. I somehow managed to work until 3:00 today and then made the drive home and got into bed still in my dressy work clothes..... and I stayed there for about 3 hours! It's looking like I have another long day in store for me tomorrow if I'm still feeling bad......

On a happier note, we had a good day yesterday to celebrate Father's Day! We went out to a beautiful park near our house and then went out to eat for some good ol' barbecue. Hannah was always the spotlight of the show anywhere we went making her grand entrance waving at everyone and saying "hey!" not to mention all of the comments when she would walk sporting her "squeaky" shoes. They were a hit!

I really need to get better about posting. I have been such a slacker lately- well, actually I have just been soooo busy with working full-time, coming home to the Hannah and then proofing pictures once she goes to bed. I just do NOT have enough hours in my day! *sigh*

There is just so much Hannah is learning these days (other than walking! still not walking at almost 16 months but that is ok.......) She loves to bark like a dog, say "cat!" and "hot!" and just be cute in general. :)

Nana and Grandy are coming up this morning so that we can all go to Tannehill Trade Days together so perhaps I can get some good shots out there and have some to post. It is definitely not the fact that I do not have any pictures to post- I still have not even shared our beach trip and PENTHOUSE SUITE pictures yet!! (Yes, when Hannah won Alabama Baby Idol- we won the beach trip and they had us in the penthouse suite!! It was so amazing).

Let me finish scurrying around the house before they get here.... I promise to be better at posting and keeping in touch!

Oh, and if you have noticed that I have no apostrophes in this entire blog- it is because I have obviously messed up something and when I hit the apostrophe button it pulls up the "find" box...... arg. Make it go away!!

Rachel and Matt's Beach Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing Rachel and Matt's wedding yesterday on the beach in Destin. It was an absolutely gorgeous wedding right on the shore of the beach.... We got in a few good shots beforehand and then a storm rolled in as soon as the ceremony was over forcing us and the reception inside. Everyone still had a great time!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days! I've been busy working and proofing a session I had last week. It's so sad that I haven't had time for my own pictures when I have sooo many from our recent beach trips! I promise I will get to them next week when everything settles down and post them ASAP. :)

I briefly scanned through some of the beach pictures tonight and this was one of my favorites. This is Hannah and her great-grandmother walking down the beach at sunset. Aren't they cute? :)

Hannah and I went down to Orange Beach this past weekend with Nana, Grandy, Grandmother, Aunt Sharon, Aunt Tracy, and cousins Carlee, Allie and Raegan. Whew! We sure had a crew. :) Hannah decided she was still going to hold out on her walking until her dad came home but she was getting pretty darn good about holding onto one of my fingers and walking next to me.

Hannah wasn't too much a fan of the beach- well, the water anyway. She liked the indoor pool as long as I was holding her. She said forget that little boat float that I liked last year- I want my mommy!

She loved to sit in the sand and build sandcastles with Raegan....

Our last morning at the beach... Hannah had mandarin oranges for breakfast and she ate almost the entire bowl and then shared the rest with Raegan and Allie. :)

Someone brought in some HUGE cookies at work today so I had to snag one to bring home to Hannah. Ok, so I did have it in my mind that it would make for some CUTE pictures. :) As soon as I got home, I took Hannah outside and let her go to town choming on the big cookie. She loved it! She would even sit there and pick the m&m's off of it and then gently pull all of the cookie off of it to eat it. Silly girl!!

My sister-in-law, Tracy, and her three girls- Carlee, Allie and Raegan came up to visit us this past weekend. We had such a good time and of course we had to play photo shoot! Despite the heat and bright sun- they were troopers if only for a short time. Hannah had such a good time having three girls to play with all weekend! :) We'll have to have more get-togethers over the summer!

Alabama Baby

The search for the Alabama Baby magazine cover begins! For those of you who don't know- Hannah is going to be on the cover of Alabama Baby magazine and they have asked ME to do the cover picture!! I took Hannah out to the botanical gardens this afternoon to get some pictures of her. She and I had such a good time out there!

In other Hannah news- she is almost walking! She will hold onto my hands and walk along with me. For those of you who know her- this is major progress. :) She also loves for me to cheer for her. When I say "yaayyyy!" she'll start clapping and just crack up. Silly girl!

Hannah's phrase of the week is "uh oh". At the store the other night as we strolled the aisles, Hannah would chant over and over "uh ohhhh. uh oh. uhhh ohhhhh." Most of the time it was because she had thrown poor Bear out of the cart once again. "uh oh!" :)

Hannah and I went down to Montgomery today to see my friend Joy and her three children- Joey (3), Mia (2) and Heinz (5 months). They were brave enough to be my photography models and they definitely had to be brave today! The weather was pretty bad in the area so while we were taking pictures, the wind would occasionally start to blow down my backdrop stand. They were quite the troopers. :)

And did I mention cute??? They are just so darn adorable!! I can't wait for them to move back to Birmingham so Hannah can have her little friends to play with!

Prom!

Megan had her prom Thursday night and boy was it a night to remember for her and the EHS seniors! Not only was Rachel Ray there, but others from "What Not To Wear" were there and Mandy Moore was the entertainment!! That is so awesome that so many people came to support Enterprise and to help make the seniors have a wonderful prom and definitely one they will never forget.

Here is my little Megan in her GORGEOUS prom dress. I can't believe she is a senior and went to prom.... it seems like only yesterday that I was getting ready for MY prom and she was playing dress up with me as I got ready. :)

Here is Mr. Bunny from our photo shoot from this past weekend. He was going back to his bunny home yesterday so I wanted to get a few pictures of Hannah with him before he left. I would have liked to have kept him as a pet for Hannah because she just simply adored him but let's face it- he STUNK! :)
